We had a splendid day on Sunday as we honored the lives and memory of those who have given of themselves to serve our nation over our church’s first century. Seeing people stand who have served as far back as World War II was tremendously inspiring. I was deeply moved by seeing your faces as we asked you to stand. My mind moved to the thoughts that must have been in your minds as you remembered some of the events that shaped your lives and our nation. Please know of the deep gratitude of our entire church family for what you have done.
Our Congressman, Dr. Phil Roe, did a fine job when he joined us in 11 AM service to honor our veterans. I appreciate his willingness to share his time with us on one of the busiest weekends a Congressman can face.
This Sunday we will gather around the Lord’s table as we continue our focus on living A Generous Life. So far we have heard from 3 members of our Stewardship Promotion Committee. Cindy McElroy, Dale Kelly and Silas Biddison have done a great job helping us realize why we give our time, treasure and touch. This week Marty Boykin will help us consider how we give of our talent. The following week Ben Gamble will help us consider how we give thanks. I am tremendously grateful for each member of our team and the talents they share with us.
Our busiest six weeks of the year are upon us. I can’t wait to share with you around the Lord’s table on Sunday. Sunday afternoon we will gather with the other Church Circle churches at 5 PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. You will be blessed if you can join us.
Thanks for being the church you are! I am proud to be associated with you in our mutual pilgrimage,
Marvin Cameron
