This Sunday we will celebrate with our youth as they lead us in worship on Sunday morning. It is a reminder of just how important our ministry to young people is. We will share in the celebration of communion as we remember the gift of life our Lord provides us. It will be a special Sunday as we bless our young people with our encouragement, prayer and support.
Last week I was blessed to share time with some of my colleagues. They are among the most gifted pastors I know. Our group serves churches from Virginia to Florida to Texas. We share thoughts about the changes facing the church. We remember our collective past in ministry. Perhaps the most meaningful times we share are when we gather around a table – we all eat our meals together and share prayers for each other and our ministries. I am blessed to know good friends and good pastors. Thanks for providing me the chance to gather to learn, to be inspired and challenged.
Our Recovery at Clay Street ministry is now on Wednesday nights. If you know someone who is struggling in life RACS may be the place for them. We are blessed as a congregation to have our wonderful Clay Street building. Every group that meets there (Providence Medical Clinic, RACS and Covenant Counseling Center) is blessed by your tremendous gifts of a marvelous building at absolutely no cost to them. They don’t have to pay rent, utilities, custodial costs or communications cost due to your wonderful generosity as a congregation. While RACS is a full FBC ministry, the others are now stand-alone 501c3 entities. Your gifts of space, utilities and generous annual contributions are blessings that few ministries in our city realize. Thanks again for all you mean to so many ministries in our city.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday,
