We continue dealing with “Questions People Asked Jesus” throughout this Lenten season as we prepare our hearts for Easter. This Sunday we will deal with a question posed by Simon Peter. That question arose when lots of people left Jesus after they learned that it might cost them something. I think it will help us to see how Jesus answered as we remember why we follow our Lord.
We are now dealing with the COVID-19 virus. Our church is trying to take a common-sense approach while being aware of how dangerous any virus can be. Thanks for your cooperation as we try to navigate these times.
Things like the virus cause people to look for some reason this is occurring. Some begin looking for “the end of time” in times like these. It helps me to remember what our Lord said about the subject in Matthew 24:36: “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” I hope we can spend our time doing the “work of him who sent us…” rather than trying to find “signs” in every occurrence of life. Folks have been doing that for 20 centuries and no one has been right yet! I look forward to doing that work with you when we meet again on Sunday!
