On Sunday you heard the news of Robyn Wilson’s plan to retire from her position as our Minister of Children and Activities. Robyn will be retiring on February 28. She has been connected to our church since 1979. During that time she has done everything she has been asked to do. She has gone above and beyond the call of duty more times than anyone can remember. She has driven buses, changed diapers, cleaned the gym and a thousand other things in addition to the regular work of her ministry. Generations of children, youth and parents are the beneficiaries of Robyn’s good work on behalf of our church and our Lord.
Our Administrative Committee will meet this Wednesday to begin plans for a joyous celebration of Robyn’s good work. In addition, they will begin the process of charting the course of our future. I hope you will be praying for Robyn in this time of transition. Also, I hope you will be praying for our Administrative Committee as they begin the process of evaluation that will be necessary to plan for a good interim, study and search.
This Sunday you will hear a good report from Norris Sneed on the progress of our Bridging Generations effort. You have been tremendously faithful in giving throughout this campaign. I hope you will be present to hear the good news from Norris as well as the continuation of our “I Quit…” sermon series.
