Some of the people who call themselves atheists or agnostics often pose a question to Christian believers. “Does God care?” This Sunday we will see that atheists and agnostics are not the only people to have ever asked that question. We will explore God’s care from the point of view of some of the people who lived when Jesus did. I hope you will be in your place in our Sanctuary when we ponder that question from the perspective of Jesus. It may give you some points to consider if anyone asks you, “Does God care?”
I want to give you an update on the purchase of the Tourist Home and the adjoining building. The closing date is now scheduled for February 18. On February 19, we will consider a recommendation to begin the demolition of the Tourist Home in a business meeting that evening. We will also consider recommendations to repair the front doors to the Sanctuary building and to try to ameliorate the water issues in our Preschool and Middle School areas. I am so grateful for the people who are working on these issues. Paul Hopkins, David Lane, Mack Patton, Melinda Hatfield, Dick Slack, Leland Leonard, and Lyle Ailshie have worked on one or more of these projects. Be sure to express your gratitude to them when you see them.
See you Sunday as we discover that we do follow a caring Lord!
