The greatest day of the year is only a few days away. Easter is the annual reminder that life conquers death, love conquers hate and good conquers evil. So on Sunday, we will gather in our “Sunday best,” however we define that term to worship the resurrected Lord and remember his promise that “I will come again and take you with me, that where I am, there you may be also.”
This Easter we will return to a theme we used a month or so ago. We will talk together about “Overcoming.” This week we will consider how Easter enables us to “Overcome the Last Enemy.” I look forward to sharing with you the greatest news in all history.
The last couple of weekends have been meaningful for me as I have been blessed to lead in weddings for some of the young people who have grown up in our church. On both occasions, I was struck by what a remarkable group of young people go through our halls on their way to success in life. I was able to watch them interact with old and new friends. Along the way, my mind ran backward to when these newly married adults were in elementary or middle school, learning the lessons of the Bible from many of you. That causes me to say “thanks” to all those who work with our children and youth in so many dimensions. It seems they are in Children’s worship one week and getting married the next! At least that is how it seemed the last two weekends.
See you Sunday, no matter what your age, as we celebrate the gift of life eternal,
