I want to share with you some great news about our Preschool. As you know, we have been moving toward becoming a full-service facility. We are doing that now for children from age 2 and up. We are now moving toward being able to minister to families with children beginning at 6 weeks of age. Our representatives have been meeting with the representatives of the state of Tennessee to make sure we do everything necessary to be ready to start in the late summer.
In addition to this good news, we have once again received the highest ratings from the groups which oversee the quality and progress of our Preschool. This helps parents know we are doing our best to care for their children in a healthy and positive environment.
We are blessed with excellent leadership in our Preschool. Brooke Robinette has brought an energy and a can-do spirit which has endeared her to us already. Candee Maguire has brought years of experience and wisdom to her role as our Assistant Director. They are making a terrific team of leaders for our program.
Unfortunately, in every ministry there are transitions. One of those is occurring in our Preschool at the end of the month. Sharon Hooker has served capably and compassionately as one of the vital leaders of our Preschool ministry for years. She has been a friendly face and a source of encouragement for a generation of children and their parents. THANKS, Sharon, for a job very well done. God bless you in your retirement from our Preschool.
Thanks to Danny Silvey for an excellent sermon on making the most of “today.” I look forward to seeing you on Sunday as we begin a sermon series entitled, “Overcoming,” This week we will consider how we overcome materialism. I hope to see you in your place.
