I hope you were able to be with us during our Visioning experience on Sunday morning during Sunday School. Hundreds of you joined together to hear the results of your input and the good work of our Visioning team. You have already responded well. I hope you will continue to respond this week as God leads you to the team(s) you wish to serve alongside.
Rob Emery gave great emphasis to our desire that this effort be saturated with prayer. Even if you can’t be on a team, you can be on the most important team of all, the prayer team. If you didn’t sign up for a “prayer day” I hope you will do that this week. Feel free to send me an email with your preferred dates and we will be sure you are on the list.
As I said on Sunday morning, I was overwhelmed at how so many of you see the need to address the needs of younger people in our community. Our Senior Adults are my heroes. You are faithful in attendance, stewardship, leadership and serving in a multitude of ways. You have a world of experience which guides our congregation in a way that has helped us for decades. Even today, you continue to give wisdom and leadership to this fellowship. That is why I was so thrilled to read that more than 170 people listed the needs of younger folks as our primary concern as a congregation. Only 6 people in our entire congregation listed the concerns of our elderly people. That is despite the fact that many people who gave us their visions are senior adults. So to all our senior adults, THANK YOU for all you mean to me and to our church. You are a blessing to us all.
This Sunday we will consider how we measure our lives through our financial gifts back to God. I hope you will join us as we see how our giving can bless others and us. I look forward to seeing you then,
