I am sometimes amazed at how we have people living near us who have had experiences most of us only dream about. On Friday, November 2, we will have the opportunity to hear from one of those very special people. Carroll Dale is a man who was raised in the shadow of the mountains of Southwest Virginia. He went to Virginia Tech, where he became the first All-American football player in the school’s history. From there he went to the National Football League where he played in the first two Super Bowls. Since his NFL career ended some years ago, Carroll has returned to his roots and made a difference in the lives of countless people in our region.
We will have a Men’s Breakfast on November 2 at 7:30 AM. The cost of breakfast and the program is only $10. We will have a great meal and wonderful fellowship. This is a great opportunity to get to meet a “living legend” who is in the College Football Hall of Fame. I have had the pleasure to meet Mr. Dale on a couple of occasions. He is a fine Christian speaker and gentleman. I hope you will be here and will bring a guest with you to get to know Carroll and our church. You will be doing them a favor.
This Sunday we will look to the fourth part of our vision as we think about reaching our region with the gospel of Jesus. I hope you will be here to pray about how God will use you in our Visioning process going forward. Thanks for your good response as we move toward the final two pieces of the puzzle. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
