It is almost impossible to believe that school starts back in less than two weeks. I hope you will mark your calendars for Sunday, August 5. That will be a red-letter day in our church. We are going to have a “Blessing of the Backpacks” as we pray for our students and teachers as they get ready for school. That afternoon we will have a special prayer time for these young people and all who work in our educational systems. Be sure to invite a child or young person you know to join us that Sunday as we emphasize the role of prayer in the lives of our young people.
On that day we will also introduce to you our new Preschool Director. Our search committee has done an outstanding job finding a person we believe will lead our Preschool into a bright and growing future. We start Preschool on Monday, August 6 this year. This will be a year of transitions as we move to a longer day and greater opportunities for the children of working parents to be involved with our Preschool. We have a great legacy of learning and loving in our Preschool. One of the goals of Bridging Generations was to expand our Preschool. That is now becoming a reality. Thanks to all who are making this happen.
As we get ready for our youngsters to return to school maybe it is a good time for all of us to focus on our need to learn more about our Lord and his word. If you are not active in a Sunday School class right now I would love to help you find one. We have a great variety of teaching styles and learning styles. There is one that is just right for you.
Thanks for all you are doing to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community!
