I believe yesterday was the first Easter in my life when I didn’t join with others in a sanctuary to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. It was a very strange day but it was a good time of worship online. I hope you joined hundreds of others in proclaiming “He is risen” as we gathered online yesterday. Seeing so many affirming comments in social media and the responses you sent via text and email were a reminder of the joy of our faith on this Easter weekend.
This week we will have a little variety in our online programming. On Sunday morning I received a couple of video lessons from my good friend and former FBC member, Rev. Ira Cunningham. Many of you will remember when Ira was in our fellowship. He was forced to retire early from his position as Pastor of Boone Trail Baptist Church. I found Ira’s words so profound and timely that I asked his permission to share them with you. Be sure to join us for our Wednesday prayer and Bible study video to hear Ira’s words and be both comforted and challenged.
This Sunday we will go back to the empty tomb one more time as we continue with those questions people asked Jesus. The implicit question this week is “Who called my name?” Remember to join us at 10 AM online to once again proclaim our faith in the resurrected Lord. I look forward to being in online fellowship with you,
