I am rarely speechless but I was this morning as we joined together for an incredible time of worship. Already I have been told multiple times that this was one of, if not, the best worship experience many of you have known. It was incredible, wasn’t it? Dr. Frank Hawkins was “spot on” in his message of grace and love. The work of our Centennial Celebration Committee and all those who are working with them was spectacular. Music and videos were enthusiastic and joyous. You were patient as we took a picture “for the ages.”
I want to take a moment to thank the people behind the scenes who worked so faithfully and diligently so all this could happen. Our secretarial staff has worked hard to get the word out to you. Our custodial staff went the extra mile to make sure everyone was comfortable. Our sound and technical people did a wonderful job helping us worship our God. Those of us who are “up front” often get far too much credit for the work done by those you don’t see. So do me a favor and take time to thank those “behind the scenes” when you see them. They deserve our affirmation and appreciation.
This Sunday we will begin a look at another anniversary, the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation which is coming on October 31. I hope you will be here in October when we talk about the importance of faith, the Bible and our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Thanks again for a day we will long remember! See you next Sunday as we make more memories!
